“Bottle it Up”
January 26, 2013
Who
do we choose to be?
How
do we choose to see?
The
people around us,
The
masks covering
The
true faces we hide
From
judgmental eyes
But
in a life so short,
Can
we really afford
To
lie to the world?
To
lie to ourselves?
But
we don’t want to lose
What
we think we hold most dear
Clinging
blindly to things
We
have already lost.
So
we bottle it up,
Feign
adoration,
Feign
disgust.
All
the while,
We
die in our loneliness,
A
little bit more.
Never
knowing if our truth
Would
be accepted
Or
discarded, along with us
In
this world,
Killing
us softly
In
its embrace.
